False Spring

You child of the false spring.
I asked for green eyes
And the frost invested blue to you.
This is what living north does,
I suppose.
You child of the false hopes.
The daffodils died to give you birth.
Grant us mercy one day,
When you remember we gave the harvest up
And the sun.
To have you.
Brilliant blue.
