Playing at Equations

There’s something lacking
A lack of fiction.
Maybe, a lack of input x
Diminishes output y?
But I still don’t know my y value.
I lack the chromosome,
Of course – it’s medical!
An inability, Matthew, incurable.
Fantastic then,
I’m not to blame
For a chemical imbalance in my brain.
It’s all just genetics.
“nature not nurture”
So mum and dad aren’t at fault ether.
But still my lack of y.
Though I suppose I have double the x input.
But still no value for the result
Nothing to show.
So it’s not me,
Then it’s society.
An impossible place where
X=y but y>2x
