It’s Alright

We bent our fate around the moon
Around a silver spoon
Threw scornful words around the room
Today couldn’t end too soon.

We have our very own war of roses
War of torn jeans
War of top-down economics.
Well, I sigh,
There’s just not much we’ve got in common.

And what we had was false
One of us moulded the other
Changed a hairstyle
Changed a wish list.
I liked harmonica
And flat-top box.
I liked water
And vagabond.

You were a temporary house
And I don’t really know now
Or care
What those years really were.
