I love the city I grew up in, and I’m proud to call this silly/hippie/commie/liberal/lgbt part of the south-east my home. But it does baffle (and anger) me sometimes. Like why would the Green council think it far more fitting to put a tonne of clothes on the clock tower than – I don’t know, just donate it to the large numbers of poor and impoverished people living not 3 miles from there. It just drives me mad sometimes. Even though it looks wicked. I guess that’s part of the problem. I just think that “all in the name of art” is not a good enough justification (especially if it’s art in the name of tourism).
